Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Physicist to join our team at the University of Pittsburgh. As a key member of our Radiation Safety department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe use of radiation-producing equipment and radioactive materials on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including NRC, PA-DEP, TJC, and ACR regulations
  • Develop and implement radiation safety policies and procedures
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs for gamma cameras, PET scanners, mammography, and diagnostic x-ray equipment
  • Provide radiation safety training to staff and faculty
  • Conduct radiation shielding and dosimetry calculations
  • Support the university's radiopharmaceutical therapy program
Requirements
  • Current approval for MQSA or ability to obtain approval
  • ABR certification in Diagnostic Imaging or equivalent certifications
  • Board eligible candidates will be considered
