Director of Learning and Development

San Diego Grantmakers is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Learning to lead the development and implementation of high-quality learning opportunities and conferences for our members. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of creating and delivering engaging and cutting-edge member learning experiences that strengthen effective individual and collective philanthropy in our region.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a comprehensive learning strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and goals.
- Design and deliver high-quality learning experiences, including conferences, workshops, and online courses, that meet the needs of our members.
- Collaborate with the President & CEO, VP of Collaboration & Special Initiatives, and other stakeholders to conceptualize program offerings and ensure that member, community, and nonprofit voices are heard in program development.
- Identify and cultivate local, state, and national partnerships with members, subject matter experts, and other philanthropy serving organizations to enhance learning sessions and conferences.
- Ensure that learning opportunities are available throughout the entire San Diego region by identifying geographically diverse spaces to host events and utilizing technology for remote learning options.
- 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing similar types of programming and events.
- Proven capacity to quickly learn new things and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Excellent writing and research skills, with experience in curriculum development, group facilitation, adult learning, and network building.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence.
- Top-notch organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under deadline on multiple projects.
