Bristol Myers Squibb is a leading pharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming patients' lives through science. We are seeking an exceptional scientific leader to join our team as an Associate Director, Cheminformatics Machine Learning.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a small team of computational scientists and participate in and lead several matrix teams across the organization. The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of modern data science methods with an emphasis on machine learning to advance multi-objective molecular design efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of computational scientists in the development and application of machine learning algorithms for molecular design
  • Participate in and lead several matrix teams across the organization to advance multi-objective molecular design efforts
  • Develop and implement cutting-edge techniques to accelerate the drug discovery process from hit identification through candidate nomination
  • Collaborate with disease area experts in the Thematic Research Centers to discover and deliver medicines to patients in need
Requirements
  • Ph.D. with 8+ years of relevant experience in artificial intelligence or machine learning development and applications to molecular design
  • 4+ years of leadership or people management experience
  • Experience in machine learning or artificial intelligence and cheminformatics is critical
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, C/C++, and/or R
  • Expertise in a subset of machine learning and cheminformatics libraries, such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, DeepChem, RDKit or OEchem
