Job Summary

Front Porch Communities and Services is seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant/Janitor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, as well as assisting with maintenance tasks as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist maintenance workers with work orders and light maintenance functions
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs, common areas, and other spaces
  • Wax and buff floors, shampoo carpets, and clean laundry rooms and public restrooms
  • Empty trash and garbage containers, and sanitize garbage rooms and shoots
  • Notify management of the need for repairs or replacements of lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
  • Walk grounds and pick up debris and litter, and assist with the maintenance of the landscape and grounds
  • Assist with scheduled inspections of apartments required by regulatory agencies
  • Assist with the scheduling of preventative cleaning schedules
  • Support special events by setting up tables and chairs, moving equipment and boxes, etc.
Requirements
  • High school education preferred, but not required
  • Up to six months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, and compute rate, ratio, and percent

  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to hold objects, tools, or equipment, and walk
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 90 pounds
