Job Title: Masonry Instructor

Virginia Peninsula Community College is seeking a skilled Masonry Instructor to join our team. As a Masonry Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, support, and assessment to our non-credit learners.

Job Summary:

The Masonry Instructor will teach and mentor students in the art and science of masonry, focusing on industry credential attainment and skill enhancement. This is a part-time, contracted position with a maximum of 1500 contracted hours per year.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach and mentor students in masonry techniques, safety, and best practices.
  • Develop and deliver curriculum that aligns with industry standards and college requirements.
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Stay current with industry developments and advancements in masonry.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Extensive work experience in masonry.
  • Knowledge of masonry safety topics, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NCCER Masonry Certification.
  • Prior teaching or training experience in a workplace or community/technical college setting.
