Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm System Service Technician to join our team at West Coast Fire & Integration, A Climatec Company. As a Fire Alarm System Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing service and inspections on fire alarm systems, troubleshooting and repairing issues, and ensuring compliance with NFPA 72 and NFPA 70 requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform service and inspections on fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with NFPA 72 and NFPA 70 requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with fire alarm systems, including electrical and mechanical components.
  • Monitor and assure progress and completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Utilize tools such as multimeters, tone generators, and battery testers to diagnose and repair issues.
  • Complete time sheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide service support on existing installations to ensure systems continue to meet existing building codes.
  • Assist the sales team during the estimating phase, including potential product or system demonstrations.
  • May perform inspections from man lifts at elevations of 30 to 40 feet from ground level, as necessary.
  • Ability to obtain all required certifications, including NICET Fire I and NICET Fire II.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school diploma.
  • 2+ years of fire alarm system service and inspections work experience required.
  • Working knowledge of the operational characteristics of fire alarm systems.
  • Basic knowledge of tools such as multimeters, tone generators, and battery testers.
  • Basic mechanical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • An understanding of computer operating systems, including the MS Office Suite of products.
  • Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma.
  • 3+ years of fire system service and inspections work experience required.
  • Advance knowledge of the operational characteristics of fire alarm systems.
  • Advance mechanical skills, including the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 101, NFPA 70, IBC.
  • An understanding of NFPA and other related fire and life safety codes.
  • Certifications NICET Fire I and/or NICET Fire II
Essential Job Functions
  • Be able to lift and carry ladders, drawings, personal computers, material, etc.
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Be able to spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites.
  • Be able to climb several flights of stairs or ladders throughout a typical day on a construction site.
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record which, per Climatec's vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive on company business.
  • Be physically able to kneel, stoop and crawl.
