Job Overview:


The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and proactive individual with retail experience and a genuine passion for beer, eager to embrace a rewarding and educational role in customer service.

The General Store Attendant will greet patrons, process sales transactions, assist customers with inquiries both in-person and via phone, create attractive store displays, replenish stock of beer and merchandise, package and dispatch online orders, among other responsibilities.

All duties will be carried out while adhering to the policies, objectives, and safety protocols of Tregs Brewing Company. This role requires a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Punctually arrive and be prepared to work at the beginning of your scheduled shift.
  • Manage routine purchasing transactions.
  • Execute daily opening and closing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Respond to General Store phone inquiries, directing calls to brewery staff and addressing questions.
  • Design and maintain visually appealing merchandise displays as directed by supervisors.
  • Restock products and beer as necessary.
  • Keep a tidy and organized workspace (both public and non-public areas).
  • Stay informed about brewery and General Store updates as communicated by supervisors.
  • Participate in daily shift meetings to discuss goals and objectives for the day.
  • Package and ship online orders for merchandise following established procedures.
  • Communicate relevant customer service issues to supervisors.
  • Provide general information to tourists.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional navigation of the production brewery, including stairs, wet floors, and confined spaces.
  • Capability to lift cases of beer (32 pounds) and maneuver kegs using a two-wheel dolly.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of Tregs Brewery, its history, and its products.
  • General knowledge of the brewing process and production of Tregs beers.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Proven capability to plan and organize tasks effectively.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, focus, and a positive attitude.
  • Adaptability and comfort with change.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make timely decisions.
  • Effective communication skills with customers.

Work Schedule:

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as required.

Work Environment:

Tregs Brewing Company operates in a climate-controlled brewing and packaging facility.

During a typical workday, co-workers may encounter:

  • Low to moderate noise levels.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes and airborne particles associated with normal cellar operations.
  • Hot water, steam, and pressurized vessels.


Co-workers frequently handle hazardous materials and may come into contact with broken glass and wet floors while working near moving mechanical equipment.
