Job Overview:


The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and proactive individual with retail experience and a love for beer, eager to embrace a rewarding and educational role in direct customer service.

The General Store Attendant will greet customers, process sales transactions, assist patrons, and respond to inquiries both in-person and via phone. Responsibilities also include creating store displays, replenishing stock, packaging and shipping online orders, among other tasks.

All activities will be conducted in accordance with the policies, objectives, and safety protocols of Tregs Brewing Company. This role requires a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Punctually arrive and be prepared to work at the start of your assigned shift.
  • Process routine purchasing transactions efficiently.
  • Execute daily opening and closing Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Manage incoming calls, directing inquiries to appropriate staff and addressing questions.
  • Create and maintain visually appealing merchandise displays as directed by the supervisor.
  • Restock products and beer as necessary.
  • Keep a tidy and organized workspace, both in public and private areas.
  • Stay informed about brewery and store updates as communicated by the supervisor.
  • Participate in daily shift meetings to discuss goals and plans for the day.
  • Package and ship online orders in accordance with Troegs E-store SOP.
  • Communicate relevant customer service issues to the supervisor.
  • Provide general information to tourists.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Occasional navigation of the production brewery, including stairs, wet floors, and confined spaces.
  • Capability to lift cases of beer (32 pounds) and maneuver kegs using a two-wheel dolly.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of Tregs Brewery, its history, and its offerings.
  • General knowledge of the brewing process and the production of Tregs beers.
  • Excellent customer service abilities.
  • Proven capacity to plan and organize tasks effectively.
  • Professional appearance and conduct.
  • Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive attitude.
  • Adaptability and comfort with change.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make timely decisions.
  • Effective communication skills with customers.

Work Schedule:

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays as required.

Work Environment:

Tregs Brewing Company operates in a climate-controlled brewing and packaging facility.

During a typical workday, co-workers may encounter:

  • Low to moderate noise levels.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes and airborne particles related to standard cellar processes.
  • Hot water and steam.
  • Pressurized vessels.


Co-workers routinely handle hazardous materials and may come into contact with broken glass and wet floors while working near moving mechanical equipment.
