Job Summary

The Night Ministry is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty. We are seeking a skilled Program Specialist to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality care and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments and complete necessary paperwork for new residents.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry in our electronic records system.
  • Record daily activities, progress, and significant resident issues; update incoming staff and review logs at the start of each shift.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, visitors, and callers.
  • Supervise and enforce Night Ministry policies, procedures, and house rules consistently.
  • Assist residents in developing basic life skills and arrange transportation for appointments and activities.
  • Ensure residents' safety and report incidents promptly.
  • Demonstrate consistency, fairness, firmness with kindness, clear boundaries, tolerance, flexibility, and professionalism.
  • Coordinate with volunteers and inform case management of resident issues.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year experience working with at-risk youth, preferably in a recent role.
  • Crisis intervention training a plus.
  • Ability to pass DCFS licensing requirements.
  • Current driver's license and proof of insurability.
  • First aid/CPR training a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

The Night Ministry offers a competitive hourly rate of $19/hour. Full-time staff are entitled to full benefits after 30 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and more.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position include standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and lifting. The employee must be able to use hands or fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls, and regularly talk or listen.
