Job Summary

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Route Service Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our sales and service team, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing our customer base by providing exceptional service and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, repair, and install suppression products and systems to ensure compliance with safety requirements and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Make recommendations to customers based on manufacturer's specifications and state/local codes.
  • Identify deficiencies and quote, sell, and repair on-site.
  • Upsell existing customers to new product offerings and services to meet compliance with current fire code regulations.
  • Sell new accounts on the route based on the same compliance criteria.
  • Meet or exceed quotas set forth by the direct supervisor.
  • Call on potential customers to offer suppression products and services.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience with service in the fire protection industry.
  • Sales experience with a proven record of growing business through cold calling.
  • Must be flexible with working hours, possible nights/weekends to meet customers' needs.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-5 years' experience in customer service.
  • Must have Extinguisher Certificate of competency.
  • Must have Pre-engineered suppression systems Certificate of competency.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check.
  • Must be able to climb and work in awkward and cramped positions, working around kitchen equipment, stairwells, fire escapes, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lb and carry a distance of 50 yards.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, strong organizational, and good communication skills.
