Penn State's College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) is on the lookout for a Marketing and Communications Coordinator to propel the college's strategic objectives and foster engagement with the wider community. This role will adopt a proactive stance by collaborating with internal departments to grasp their priorities, resources, and aspirations, linking them to broader college and University goals. Under the guidance of the marketing and communications manager, the coordinator will convert this information into actionable strategic communication plans, support their tactical implementation, and make informed adjustments to campaigns based on both quantitative and qualitative insights.
Additionally, the coordinator will contribute to the college by:
- Facilitating daily operations by managing communication project requests and promoting cross-departmental collaborations and workflows
- Crafting strategies that articulate and highlight the college's brand identity
- Utilizing marketing opportunities to boost student recruitment, alumni involvement, and research visibility
- Producing content for news articles and feature stories, as well as promotional materials such as fact sheets, newsletters, web pages, social media initiatives, and digital displays
- Ensuring all content and strategies align with and are informed by Penn State brand standards
This position involves daily collaboration with IST faculty, staff, and leadership, and regular communication with alumni, students, and donors. Therefore, the ideal candidate must possess a strong ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and effectively prioritize multiple projects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a hybrid position that combines remote and on-campus work.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
The role necessitates a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other essential qualifications include:
- Ability to work independently to initiate projects and manage progress
- Possesses excellent judgment and meticulous attention to detail
- Capable of translating strategic goals and initiatives into engaging content across various formats
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
- Skilled in writing for a diverse range of audiences, including prospective and current students, alumni, and the general public
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
