Job Title: Teen Choir Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teen Choir Director to lead our youth music ministry at Eastern Star Church.

Job Summary:

The Teen Choir Director will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing music programs for Teens/Youth and College/Young Adult Choir. This includes establishing and directing musical instruction for various choirs and praise teams, coordinating rehearsal schedules, and supervising assigned musicians.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and develop music programs for Teens/Youth and College/Young Adult Choir
  • Establish and direct musical instruction for various choirs and praise teams
  • Coordinate rehearsal schedules for assigned choirs and praise teams
  • Supervise assigned musicians and report information to the Director of Music Ministries
  • Consult with the Director of Music Ministries regarding the hiring and firing of assigned musicians
  • Responsible for completing appropriate room requisition forms for various choirs and praise teams
  • Responsible for processing assigned accounts payables
  • Develop and maintain music library of designated choirs and praise team
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Praise & Worship PowerPoint presentations for Teen/Young Adult worship services
  • Assist in the coordination of special Teen/Young Adult events
  • Provide music for Quarterly Teen Ignite Worship experience for Youth Church
  • Provide music for Young Adult/Crew events when necessary
  • Schedule time daily to learn and practice material for assigned ministry rehearsals
  • Provide music for funerals at Eastern Star Church as designated
  • Provide music for special Teen/Young Adult meetings, special worship services, and programs as designated
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 years related experience and/or training in a gospel music environment
  • High level of musical skills derived from extensive choral training or experience
  • Ability to present and provide instruction to musicians and choir members
  • Ability to communicate effectively to motivate musicians and choir members
  • Ability to interact with the congregation and work with church staff
  • Able to read, understand, and interpret a variety of musical documents
  • Ability to initiate, develop, and maintain a high-quality music program
Working Conditions:

The Teen Choir Director will be required to work a variety of hours, including Sundays, midweek services, occasional holidays, and choir rehearsals. The hourly wage for this position is $18-20.
