Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Sociology/Criminology

The Division of Social Sciences at Alfred University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Sociology with a specialization in sociology of law or criminal justice. We seek a scholar-teacher who can contribute to our undergraduate program and engage in interdisciplinary collaborations.
Teaching ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will teach introductory-level courses and upper-division courses on topics such as social justice in the criminal justice system, inequality, and justice. We encourage applicants with a demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary programs like Data Analytics, Women and Gender Studies, Social Justice Studies, or Africana Studies.
Qualifications- Ph.D. in sociology or combined sociology/criminology prior to appointment
- Ability to teach three courses (four credit hours each) a semester
- Interest in developing interdisciplinary collaborative courses, innovative technologies, and experiential learning
