Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Chemistry to join our faculty team at Alfred University. This tenure-track position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our academic community and advance your career in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of chemistry courses, including General Chemistry I and II, Physical Chemistry, and laboratory sections.
  • Develop and maintain a research program in physical, physical organic, or biophysical chemistry, with opportunities for collaboration and mentorship.
  • Advise students and contribute to departmental and university service.
  • Participate in curriculum development and assessment, and engage in professional development activities.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry with a primary expertise in physical, physical organic, or biophysical chemistry.
  • Strong teaching and research record, with a commitment to excellence in both areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and staff.
  • Ability to contribute to a diverse and inclusive academic community.
