Environmental Safety Specialist

Lockheed Martin Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Safety Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our employees. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying hazardous workplace conditions, taking preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous forces and toxic substances, and removing hazards to protect employees. You will also work closely with our site Environmental, Safety and Health Engineering teams to ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify hazardous workplace conditions and take preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous forces and toxic substances.
- Remove hazards to protect employees by guarding, revising work procedures, and training or requiring use of protective clothing and personal protective equipment.
- Ensure that workplace conditions comply with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health standard provisions.
- Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation.
- Investigate, prepare, and forward as required reports on injuries and fatalities.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemical, Safety, Environmental Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and industrial processes through course work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be a US Citizen.
