Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English Language Learner Teacher to join our team at Russell County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, instructing, and increasing English language proficiency in students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluation and Instruction: Assess students' English language proficiency and develop individualized instruction plans to improve their language skills.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement English language education curriculum aligned with school district goals and objectives.
  • Support for Classroom Teachers: Provide resources and support to classroom teachers to improve academic achievement of English Language Learner students.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to meet individual students' needs.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in English language education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education or a related field.
  • Teaching License: Valid Virginia teaching license with an English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement.
  • Experience: Prior experience as an ELL teacher or in a related field is preferred.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a standard office and school building environment, with occasional travel to school district buildings and professional meetings.
