Your Role:

This is a hands-on, full-time opportunity where your daily responsibilities will include ensuring the timely completion of projects by managing and directing the work crew, confirming that equipment and materials are adequately supplied, maintaining and repairing equipment, training team members, and assisting with special assignments as needed. This position will also involve placing and finishing concrete slabs using various tools and machinery; interpreting blueprints and survey stakes to ascertain the layout and elevation of slabs and surface requirements; operating equipment safely while being mindful of surrounding personnel and structures; and making informed decisions regarding weather and site conditions prior to concrete pouring. Ultimately, an exceptional Concrete Supervisor should exhibit strong management and problem-solving abilities while enforcing adherence to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the recruitment, training, mentoring, and support of laborers, form setters, finishers, and equipment operators.
  • Conduct daily safety and maintenance inspections, ensuring that any unsafe practices or hazards reported by crew members are promptly addressed to meet OSHA and company standards.
  • Establish necessary safety protocols based on job site conditions and materials.
  • Ensure that all equipment is operated safely and efficiently by the crew to achieve zero accidents and maintain project budgets.
  • Effectively identify concrete mixtures and determine the required equipment and methods to achieve desired finishes and performance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the designated Safety Crew Member to ensure that Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) forms are completed daily.
  • Calculate material quantities accurately.
  • Verify the completion of pre-pour and post-pour checklists.
  • Communicate equipment and manpower needs to a Superintendent to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Collect and verify the accuracy of receipts from deliveries or purchases.
  • Work with Operations and Mobilization Departments on field orders.
  • Report any delays, accidents, or transportation issues to bases or other vehicles.
  • Understand project plans and specifications thoroughly.
  • Manage field operations to minimize overtime and communicate when overtime is necessary to the team.
  • Complete daily reports including time spent on the job (employee timecards), weather conditions, subcontractors working for Coloscapes Concrete Inc, and a general daily description of activities performed, delays encountered, and changes directed by the client in the field.
  • Verify and approve employee timecard entries daily and authorize weekly payroll reports for processing.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned.
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience Required for Success:
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role or industry, or demonstrated exceptional job performance and leadership capabilities.

  • ACI Finisher
  • OSHA 30 Hour
  • Forklift Operator
  • Skid Steer Operator
