Job Description

**Job Summary**

K2 Staffing is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of construction projects, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, including short-interval look-ahead schedules, to ensure effective project control.
  • Oversee site safety, health, and cleanliness, ensuring a culture that values these aspects.
  • Coordinate and manage the work of subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Verify that all work is installed in a workmanlike manner, meeting the required standards.
  • Ensure all aspects of the project are compliant with contract terms, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Administer client-specific programs, such as site rules and regulations, safety protocols, and security measures.
  • Conduct and attend pre-construction, progress, and project meetings to ensure effective communication and project control.
  • Manage self-performed activities to ensure work is performed within the established project budget.
  • Manage changes in project scope to prevent avoidable rework and ensure the most recent documents are used.
  • Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and other agreements to ensure scope, terms, and conditions are met.
  • Manage the punch list and project closeout process to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain daily paperwork, including timecards, field reports, schedule updates, and email correspondence.
  • Provide timely and cordial interaction with supporting work groups, including clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Participate in marketing and obtaining projects to support the company's growth.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience handling tilt-up and ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • Tenant Improvement (TI) experience is a must.
  • Experience in automobile dealership builds is a significant advantage.
  • AS degree in Construction Management or similar, or a Journeyman status in a building trade from an accredited organization, and demonstrated experience of progressive responsibility supervising construction.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with commercial and institutional buildings and site work.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, scheduling, Microsoft Office, and other software used in the construction industry.
  • Current safety credentials, including OSHA 30, 1st Aid, and CPR.
