Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Licensed Lead Teacher to join our team at the School of Education's Child Development Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and feedback to classroom teachers, while also modeling and supervising instructional practices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide coaching and feedback to classroom teachers to enhance their instructional practices
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules of planned activities for teacher and administrator communication
- Monitor classroom teachers through informal observation and reflection on best practices used for lesson instruction, behavior management, classroom environment, and curriculum development
- Maintain objective-based weekly lesson plans and prepare materials necessary for classroom teachers to carry out activities and lessons
- Analyze and enter documentation regularly into MyTeachingStrategies Gold assessment platform into Checkpoint periods

Requirements:

- Current professional VA Teaching License in Early Childhood
- At least 2 years experience as a classroom lead teacher
- Experience with children ages 12 months - 5 years old
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills among colleagues and parents

Preferred Qualifications:

- Background in Special Education, Early Childhood Development, Curriculum Development
- Experience in meeting VDOE child day center licensing standards
- Instructional coaching or mentorship experience

Salary Range: $50,000 - $58,000
