About the Role
As an Advanced Technical Metering Engineer with Pinnacle West Capital Corporation, you will play a critical role in developing and applying unique solutions to technical metering issues. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our metering systems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of metering systems and standards, including familiarity with regulatory bodies and their requirements. You will be responsible for preparing complex engineering plans, designs, analysis, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, studies, technical reviews, investigations, and verifications. Your work will be reviewed from a long-term perspective and mainly for results.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develops and applies unique solutions and applications to a broad range of technical metering issues and problems.
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that have a moderate to significant effect on the overall organization performance.
  • Prepares complex engineering plans, designs, analysis, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, studies, technical reviews, investigations, and verifications.
  • Ensures engineering analyses, design, project control, schedule commitments or oversight work is technically sound, cost-effective, and in compliance with established standards, codes, and regulations.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need a four-year Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline from an ABET accredited institution, an International Engineering Alliance (IEA) recognized institution or an ABET Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) plus eight (8) years working experience in Engineering-related positions. Additionally, preferred special skills, knowledge, or qualifications include problem analysis/resolution techniques, knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, methods, and safety standards in the area of applicable engineering discipline, experience in the utility industry, experience in nuclear industry for jobs at Palo Verde, and Professional Engineer licensure.
