Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and small group academic intervention to students
  • Collaborate with the Academic Support Team to develop and implement instructional strategies
  • Share student information with program staff as necessary
  • Document all tutoring sessions in the Tutor Log, detailing student interactions, achievements, and concerns
  • Administer assessments and analyze scores with staff
  • Perform other duties assigned

Requirements

  • A commitment to the mission and programs of Harlem Children's Zone
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree required
  • Teaching certification preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to create basic lesson plans preferred
  • Familiarity with Common Core Standards is a plus
  • Availability to work flexible hours, with Saturday availability preferred

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $35-$55, depending on experience and education.

Pay Scale

  • $35 per hour for Bachelor's degree holders
  • $40 per hour for Master's degree holders without education certification
  • $50 per hour for Master's degree holders with certification in progress
  • $55 per hour for certified teachers with Master's degrees
