Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Parts Sales Representative - Inside to join our team at Palmer Trucks. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for assisting customers in finding the right parts for their trucks, both in person and over the phone.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by greeting and acknowledging all customers, offering assistance, and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Parts Sales: Work with customers, mechanics, and peers to find and order parts for repairs and upgrades to vehicles, while suggesting additional products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in stocking and organizing the showroom floor, ensuring that all parts are properly stored and easily accessible.
  • Administrative Tasks: Process cash, credit, and check transactions, as well as handle core warranties and shortages, and report any issues to the Parts Manager.
  • Technical Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on product merchandising and attend training sessions as prescribed by management to maintain proficiency in job duties.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide parts to service technicians as required, and maintain a clean and organized retail sales floor to meet or exceed dealership standards.
Requirements
  • Analytical Skills: Use intuition and experience to complement data, design work flows and procedures, and develop workable implementation plans.
  • Communication Skills: Speak clearly and persuasively, listen and get clarification, respond well to questions, and demonstrate group presentation skills.
  • Customer Service Skills: Manage difficult or emotional customer situations, respond promptly to customer needs, solicit customer feedback, and meet commitments.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Develop alternative solutions, use reason even when dealing with emotional topics, and pursue training and development opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Physical Demands: Meet the physical demands of the job, including the ability to climb ladders, stairs, and walk for long distances, and operate standard departmental equipment.
  • Experience: Have experience with counter sales and possess excellent salesmanship and communication skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
