Student Support Specialist

About the Role:
The New School of Montpelier is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Student Support Specialist. This role is responsible for supporting students individually and in small groups, assisting with the implementation of academic, communication, vocational, social, and self-regulation skills in classroom and community settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Implement evidence-based practices to promote independence, communication, social/emotional skills, and academic growth
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
• Provide support and guidance to students in classroom and community settings
• Assist with the development and implementation of vocational and social skills training programs
Requirements:
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Sincere interest in educating students with disabilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
