Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role in formulating quality strategies, supporting process development, and enhancing processes to meet customer specifications and Jireh Metal Products standards. This role also involves coordinating continuous improvement initiatives and managing corrective and preventive actions within our quality management framework. The Quality Assurance Engineer must document analyses and proposals for ongoing enhancements and oversee the preparation and submission of PPAP documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support multiple operational sites.
- Conduct statistical analysis and evaluate process quality improvement initiatives (Process Studies/Control Plans).
- Develop and implement operator quality sheets and create control plans utilizing Plex capabilities.
- Manage the PPAP process for customers and suppliers, including tracking and communicating PPAP approvals.
- Assist leadership in training team members on quality methodologies.
- Engage in APQP and ECO processes to aid in the development of control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
- Participate in APQP activities, including die design reviews, strip reviews, feasibility assessments, risk analyses, and support for die tryouts.
- Foster strong relationships with supply partners and customers.
- Investigate nonconforming materials, whether identified by customers or internally, and collaborate with the team to implement corrective measures.
- Collaborate with the team to create inspection procedures and measurement work instructions, as well as design inspection and measurement solutions.
- Assist Quality Technicians as needed and provide guidance on part quality disposition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in statistical process control and other advanced statistical techniques.
- Strong customer focus.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Possess an entrepreneurial mindset.
