Yard Laborer

Staffing Network is seeking construction workers to perform yard labor work necessary to assist with the daily storing, loading, shipping, and patching of high-quality precast concrete products. The site is located in Selkirk, NY 12143.

Pay: $19/hr

Hours: 7am-completion

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

· Inspect trucks and trailers daily.

· Load trucks and trailers with appropriate load tickets.

· Inspect products for damage or Do Not Ship tags.

· Assure products are straight & level with correct dunnage placement for transporting to yard location.

· Configure product placement in the yard.

· Hook and unhook cables to products.

· Assist crane operator with locating and movement of product.

· Document product locations in the yard.

· Complete necessary tasks to finish/patch products.

· Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.

· Other duties as assigned.

Other Required Qualifications

· Ability to carry out complex verbal instructions.

· Ability to work well with others and maintain professional conduct.

· Ability to work overtime when required.

Preferred Qualifications

· Concrete finishing experience

· Truck driving experience

· Dunnage placement procedures.

· Ability to read tape measure and blueprints.

· Ability to read drawings and yard location lists.

· Ability to operate yard equipment safely.

· Trouble shooting skills.

· Mathematical aptitude.

· High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

· Plant/Yard: Move up to 50lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection.

Work Environment

· Plant/Yard: All weather conditions, little to no climate control, dirt/dust, loud noises and vibrations from heavy machinery/vehicles, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways.
