RSU is esteemed for its high-quality academic offerings, supportive educational environment, distance learning opportunities, and advanced technological resources. The university provides a diverse array of master's, bachelor's, and associate degrees aimed at helping students fulfill their academic aspirations, alongside a dynamic campus life enriched by various student organizations. Additionally, RSU boasts 12 athletic teams across six sports and is affiliated with the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. Notably, RSU was the pioneer in Oklahoma to officially incorporate esports as a university-sanctioned activity. The undergraduate student body comprises approximately 3,100 individuals, complemented by around 120 graduate students. The faculty consists of 90 full-time and 91 part-time members, with an annual operational budget nearing $40 million.
