Job Title: Part-time Veterinarian

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate part-time veterinarian to join our team at Pasado's Safe Haven. As a veterinarian, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality medical care to our resident animals, ensuring their health and well-being.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide humane care and safe surgeries for our animals, maintaining the highest standards of medical care.
  • Oversee the controlled drugs and work closely with the Sanctuary Associate Director to ensure the medical needs of our residents are met.
  • Examine and evaluate animals in a professional and efficient manner, maintaining superior medical standards.
  • Work cooperatively with the Clinical Care Manager (LVT) to ensure proper management of the clinic, administering medications, anesthesia drugs, and preparing animals for surgery.
  • Effectively communicate the condition and status of animals with staff, enforcing and adhering to existing sanitation and disease prevention protocols.
  • Train staff as needed on appropriate handling of animals, drugs, equipment, and ensure all protocols and procedures are adhered to, including OSHA/L&I standards.
Requirements:
  • Valid Washington State Veterinary license and DEA license or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and respond to patient symptoms, reactions, and recovery progress.
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and needs, solving them or communicating them appropriately.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, establishing and maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • A self-starter, able to prioritize effectively, possess strong organizational skills, and oral communication skills.
Employment:
  • Contract Position, 1-2 days per week, 8 hours per day.
  • Onsite at our Sanctuary in Monroe, WA.
  • Contract Rate: Negotiable.
