Staff Pharmacist I

Job Summary:
UCI Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Pharmacist I to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day responsibilities of drug distribution, computer drug and IV order processing, and providing therapeutic intervention as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform therapeutic intervention as needed, provide drug information and consultation to other professional staff and patients, maintain patient profiles, attend cardio-pulmonary emergencies, drug therapy monitoring, and drug compounding.
- Direct technicians and perform inventory control.
- Provide float coverage for all shifts in the assigned pharmacy and actively precept pharmacy residents, students, technicians or interns as needed by the supervisor.
- Rotate through the pharmacy on-call schedule in area of responsibility.
Requirements:
- One year of experience as a licensed pharmacist or completion of PGY1 by time of hire.
- Current knowledge of drug references, Joint Commission requirements, and other regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Current BLS or ACLS upon hire.
- CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing.
- Ability to perform job duties independently and in compliance with requirements of licensure.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to extract pertinent information from the patient or other sources and relate it to the patient's medical management plan.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a PGY-2, Board Certification, or Advanced Practice Licensure.
