About the Role:

The Staff Pharmacist I will be responsible for performing day-to-day responsibilities of drug distribution, computer drug and IV order processing, and therapeutic intervention as needed. They will also provide drug information and consultation to other professional staff and patients, maintain patient profiles, and attend cardio-pulmonary emergencies.

The Staff Pharmacist I will direct technicians and perform inventory control. They will also provide float coverage for all shifts in the assigned pharmacy and actively precept pharmacy residents, students, technicians, or interns as needed by the supervisor.

This position is required to rotate through the pharmacy on-call schedule in the area of responsibility. The Staff Pharmacist I will be a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform therapeutic intervention as needed
  • Provide drug information and consultation to other professional staff and patients
  • Maintain patient profiles
  • Attend cardio-pulmonary emergencies
  • Direct technicians and perform inventory control
  • Provide float coverage for all shifts in the assigned pharmacy
  • Precept pharmacy residents, students, technicians, or interns as needed

Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a licensed pharmacist or completion of PGY1 by time of hire
  • Current knowledge of drug references, Joint Commission requirements, and other regulatory standards
  • Customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Current BLS or ACLS upon hire
  • CA Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacist licensure in good standing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of a PGY-2, Board Certification, or Advanced Practice Licensure
