Role Overview:
As a Structural Project Manager, you will operate independently while being directly supervised by the Engineer of Record for specific projects. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the structural team in their engineering and drafting tasks across multiple projects. You will be instrumental in providing structural designs and facilitating project coordination both within the structural team and with other disciplines such as architecture and MEP. Additionally, you will manage the project during the Construction Administration Phase, reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and participating in site visits and meetings as necessary. Your Responsibilities:
  • Engage in coordination meetings with various disciplines and design review sessions with supervisors, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the design and documentation processes to ensure timely completion of construction documents within budget constraints.
  • Draft and maintain structural specifications, select construction procedures, determine materials and member sizes, and perform necessary calculations for accurate design.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, change proposals, and orders, integrating modifications into project documentation.
  • Utilize effective communication skills to convey design and coordination details to project team members and produce comprehensive engineering reports and correspondence.
  • Conduct site observations during construction and prepare reports based on findings.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Possession of a Structural Engineering license (S.E.) in your state of residence, if applicable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive structural engineering experience is required.
  • Preferred experience includes three or more years in multi-discipline project team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of state building codes and relevant design codes such as ASCE, AISC, ACI, MSJC, NDS, etc.
  • Proficiency in structural engineering software and tools including ETABS, SAFE, RISA, RAM, ENERCALC, Excel, and Bluebeam.
  • Expertise in designing various structural materials, including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is competitive and will vary based on individual qualifications, education, experience, and skills. The compensation package may also include discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits offering.
