Position Overview:

The Bakery Manager is responsible for leading and empowering bakery staff while ensuring exceptional guest engagement and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

  • Ensure punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts, demonstrating effective communication and physical capability to perform tasks safely.
  • Enhance sales through engaging conversations with customers, offering product suggestions, and sharing current promotions.
  • Conduct inventory and financial monitoring to ensure departmental profitability and adherence to budgetary goals.
  • Utilize effective merchandising techniques to promote both existing and new products.
  • Implement Food Safety practices within the Bakery Department, ensuring all associates are trained and compliant.
  • Oversee the preparation, packaging, and presentation of bakery items, ensuring they meet company standards.
  • Provide comprehensive training for new staff on guest service and safe equipment operation.
  • Identify and nurture associates showing potential for increased responsibilities.
  • Empower associates to enhance guest experiences.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations.
  • Participate in accident reduction initiatives and maintain a safe working environment.

Supervisory Duties:

This role includes supervisory responsibilities such as:

  • Managing secondary supervisors and their teams.
  • Evaluating and coordinating the activities of bakery associates.
  • Conducting performance appraisals and addressing associate concerns.
  • Exhibiting strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Enforcing company policies effectively.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED; or a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret business documents and communicate effectively.
  • Mathematical skills for managing bakery operations.
  • Valid State Food Handlers Permit and Driver's License or State I.D. Card.

Physical Demands:

Position requires standing for extended periods, lifting and moving items of varying weights, and performing tasks in a dynamic environment.

Work Environment:

Exposure to various working conditions including mechanical parts, chemicals, and temperature variations.
