Kitchen Manager Job Description

The Old Post is seeking a seasoned Kitchen Manager to oversee daily back of house restaurant operations. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including scheduling and training
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize resources
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to develop menus, pricing, and promotions
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and overall kitchen efficiency
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Head Chef
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and multitasking abilities
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with the ability to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends
