Job Summary

We are seeking a Full Time Veterinary Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in all duties, including preparing animals for exams and surgery, performing medical treatments, and administering medications. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will work with clients from check-in to check-out, capturing medical notes, creating treatment plans, and coordinating treatment with technical teams.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in all duties
  • Prepare animals for exams and surgery
  • Perform medical treatments
  • Administer medications under the direction of a veterinarian or veterinary technician
  • Obtain and properly handle/prepare in-house and laboratory specimens
  • Work in cooperation with staff to attend to any immediate needs
  • Handle animals and their owners in a responsive, courteous, and tactful manner
  • Maintain a healthy, safe, sanitary, pleasant, and clean facility for animals
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb, as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and lift over 50 pounds with the assistance of a coworker. The candidate must also be fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position.
