About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Family Pet Clinic. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will provide exceptional care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Communication: Provide clear and concise information to clients regarding their pets' health, including status updates, home care instructions, and medication administration guidance.
  • Client Education & Support: Educate clients on preventative medicine, wellness care, and support hospital financial policies by preparing estimates and discussing financial commitments.
  • Customer Service: Greet clients, escort them and their pets into exam rooms, and ensure smooth transitions to the front desk.
  • Animal Handling & Care: Safely and compassionately restrain animals, assist veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Facility & Equipment Maintenance: Properly care for surgical materials, maintain hospital equipment and inventory, and ensure the surgery room, ICU area, and treatment areas are prepared and maintained.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using a paperless medical record system.
  • Pharmacy Assistance: Assist with dispensing medications as directed by the veterinarian and prepare prescription labels.
Qualifications
  • At least two years of Veterinary Technician experience.
  • Surgical experience required.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
  • Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
  • Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
