We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physical Therapist to join our team at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and developing the therapy plan of care for a broad range of diagnoses and acuities.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients to identify their level of function and determine the treatment plan.
- Develop and implement the physical therapy treatment plan, providing education to patients, family members, and caregivers as needed.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to modify the treatment plan, progress, and discharge planning for achievement of identified patient-specific goals.
- Provide select oversight of physical therapy-related activities and adjust the plan to improve quality of outcome and maintain patient safety.
- Proactively identify opportunities for corrective action and assist in process improvement by providing recommendations and contributing to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
- Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
- Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist; or completion of HM or comparable Physical Therapy Residency program.
- Basic Life Support (AHL) certification and Physical Therapist - State Licensure with the Texas Board of Examiners.
- Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles.
- Strong assessment, organizational, and problem-solving skills as evidenced by capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and role components.
