Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physical Therapist to join our team at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating and developing the therapy plan of care for a broad range of diagnoses and acuities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to identify their level of function and develop a treatment plan to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Implement the physical therapy treatment plan, providing education to patients, family members, and caregivers as needed.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to modify the treatment plan and achieve identified patient-specific goals.
  • Provide oversight of physical therapy-related activities and adjust the plan to improve quality of outcome and maintain patient safety.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
  • Two years of experience as a Physical Therapist or completion of a HM or comparable Physical Therapy Residency program.
  • State licensure as a Physical Therapist with the Texas Board of Examiners or compact license acceptable according to current ECPTOTE requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong assessment, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function independently and handle challenging/difficult therapy procedures and patient care situations.
  • Proficient computer knowledge and ability to operate multiple computer systems and standard Rehabilitation equipment.
