In 2022, IRCA expanded its portfolio through two strategic acquisitions in candied fruits (Cesarin) and pistachio ingredients (Anastasi), and is currently in exclusive negotiations to acquire a top manufacturer of sweet and cereal products in Europe and the US.
The target's operations focus on high-value specialty ingredients for the Food Manufacturers segment, featuring a diverse range of products such as sweet inclusions, chocolate confections, baked components, variegates, and fruit purees.
We are looking for Production Supervisors for all shifts: 1st (3am-1:30pm); 2nd (1pm-11:30pm)Responsibilities:
Oversees and guides team members in their daily tasks related to product manufacturing. Directs the team towards maximizing production efficiency, identifying current or potential bottlenecks and minimizing product loss.
- Instructs team members in various responsibilities across the production line.
- Receives packaging specifications and work orders to determine the product to be manufactured, ensuring all packaging materials and labels are accurate. Utilizes basic math skills, including fractions, to calculate ingredient quantities for partial batches.
- Ensures compliance with all safety regulations; communicates unresolved issues or concerns to supervisors.
- Operates a handheld scanner to manage manufacturing software, recording all production transactions and maintaining inventory accuracy. Responsibilities include issuing ingredients to manufacturing orders, reporting item production, printing labels, conducting inventory inquiries, transferring product locations, and other related tasks. Reconciles the department staging area using MAPICS RF tools.
- Utilizes a computer to generate basic automated reports and submit Work Order requests.
- Schedules and monitors breaks and lunches for crew members.
- Operates production machinery, adheres to safety protocols, and ensures crew compliance with safety policies.
- Conducts and assigns general housekeeping and sanitation duties on the production line daily in accordance with GMP standards, communicating specific sanitation tasks to all crew members.
- Monitors product quality and safety documentation to ensure adherence to proper procedures. Reports production data as required. Ensures compliance with HACCP and CQP documentation and checks in applicable procedures.
- Ensures all employees follow allergen protocols and communicates the importance of changing outer garments after handling allergens before transitioning to other departments.
- Updates the KPI/Communication board daily and conducts one-on-one shift change meetings with the incoming lead.
- Conducts and assigns all quality control testing required in the department during the shift.
- Performs all other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. One year of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of training and experience in food manufacturing is desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and other related documents. Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Capable of computing rates, ratios, and percentages, and able to interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form. Capable of addressing problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Recognizes issues and escalates them to the appropriate personnel.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee must regularly walk; use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, talk, hear, taste, or smell.
- The employee must regularly maneuver and/or move weights ranging from 150 to 300 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme heat. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
