The recent acquisition of Kerry Sweet has expanded the company's product portfolio to include sweet particulates, chocolate confections, inclusions, variegates, and frozen fruit purees.
About Our TeamAs a member of the Elk Grove Village team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the production of high-quality products that bring joy to families and friends across America. As an Irca Group Production Operator, you will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge, learning multiple jobs and processes, and taking pride in the transformation of raw ingredients into finished products.
Key Responsibilities- Mixing: Read and follow manufacturing order instructions to gather, measure, weigh, and document ingredients. Load ingredients into a mixer, blend according to specifications, and unload the mixer to transfer the mixed batch to the next process.
- Extrusion: Process mixed batches through extrusion equipment to produce finished products. Use product controls to conduct sensory checks to ensure the finished product meets customer specifications throughout the extrusion process.
- Polishing: Manage and transfer finished products from extrusion and drying processes. Apply the finishing touch to finished products using the panning process, loading products from drums, carts, or trays into polishing pans and adding liquid ingredients by hand or automation.
- Catcher: Manage the transfer of finished products from extrusion processes using drums, carts, or trays to the next process.
- Adherence to Safety and Quality Standards: Prioritize human safety, food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and product quality as essential functions.
- Attendance: Regular attendance is an essential responsibility.
- Education and Experience: Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, quality documents, and other related shipping documents.
- Technical Skills: Ability to utilize handheld devices to scan ingredient barcodes and enter quantities used to maintain inventory accuracy. Use of powered hand trucks to move finished products to the next process staging areas. Performance of lock out/tag out responsibilities to properly de-energize equipment when completing product unloading and mixing equipment cleaning activities. Use of sifting equipment to screen finished products to ensure product size and shape meets customer specifications.
