Role Overview: The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role in facilitating the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for our innovative products during the New Product Development (NPD) phase.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enhance quality measures for new products, ensuring the deployment of essential tools for high-quality product launches.
- Collaborate with product development teams, suppliers, and manufacturing units to execute comprehensive APQP strategies for both new and existing products.
- Conduct risk assessments, including FMEA, and validate products before they are released for distribution.
- Ensure that APQP deliverables are achieved throughout the NPD stage-gate development process, covering aspects such as DFM, DFS, PFMEA, and production release.
- Facilitate team meetings to ensure adherence to quality planning processes during product development and maintenance.
- Mentor quality technicians in APQP methodologies and tools.
- Investigate and report on key product and process capabilities, identifying potential risks associated with components and suppliers.
- Build strong relationships with manufacturing and suppliers to develop and audit quality plans that meet company and customer standards.
- Monitor and report on the APQP process through data analysis and validation.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of quality-related experience preferred for Specialist roles; a degree in engineering is required for Engineer roles with 0-2 years of experience.
- Proficiency in mechanical skills and a strong understanding of quality standards.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or higher certification is preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in SAP and MS Office applications.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to conduct research and produce organized documentation.
Work Environment: This position involves regular use of a personal computer in an office setting, with occasional visits to shop areas and outdoor work environments.
