Job Summary

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental financial and tax regulations, as well as GAAP standards. This role reports to the VP of Finance and oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting, including semimonthly payroll. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual with a strong finance/accounting background and in-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Responsible for the monthly accounting close, developing detailed fluctuation and variance explanations, as well as generating financial reporting packages to senior management and external investors.
  2. Provide a detailed cash flow analysis comparing results against monthly budgets and report back to the Controller and CEO.
  3. Process bi-monthly payroll in Insperity and reconcile to the general ledger for accuracy.
  4. Process invoices in our Purchase Order System (Prendio) as part of the 3-way match and investigate differences and discrepancies with vendors and our internal customers.
  5. Process invoices to ensure timely and accurate payment and ensure accurate accounting entries.
  6. On-board new vendors in our accounting systems AP and work with vendors to establish and manage lines of credit.
  7. Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with a combination of public account and biotech experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skill and attention to detail in preparing schedules including reconciliations.
  • Proactive learner who enjoys solving problems and a variety of challenges.
  • Willingness to take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction from manager.
Technical Requirements and Skills
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP Accounting. CPA preferred but not required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience with QuickBooks or other general ledger platforms.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $112,000.00 to $148,000.00 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including individual education, experience, tenure, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data, including potential adjustments for geographic location.
