Position Overview:
ML6 Search + Talent Advisory is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join a leading global packaging organization. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that all control systems are maintained effectively and comply with the latest safety regulations. Your responsibilities will include developing engineering project plans, creating designs, establishing project controls and specifications, drafting timelines, estimating costs, and supervising the production, installation, and testing of new systems and processes. You will also work closely with various departments and external stakeholders to improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement mechanical and electrical projects aimed at enhancing site productivity, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and safety.
- Oversee capital engineering projects to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and timelines, including managing external vendors and suppliers.
- Specify and manage the installation of equipment during relocations and upgrades.
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance teams regarding installation, troubleshooting, process control, and equipment repairs.
- Create and manage all engineering documentation.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, analyze key performance indicators, and identify opportunities for enhancement.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, accompanied by at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of advanced machine control principles and programming for Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
- Proficient in evaluating controls engineering challenges, independently resolving issues, and implementing procedures or corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Willingness to adapt to production schedules as necessary within a matrix organization.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities; PMP certification is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD or SOLIDWORKS, RSLogix, and Siemens TIA Portal is essential.
