Position Overview

Dentsu America is seeking an accomplished Senior Vice President of Sponsorship Strategy to lead our efforts with a portfolio of Fortune 500 clients. In this role, you will provide expert guidance on optimal partnership strategies, activation, rights holder management, and performance measurement.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with clients to grasp their objectives and partnering with internal teams to design sports and entertainment initiatives, manage comprehensive brand marketing strategies, and execute activation campaigns. Successful candidates will demonstrate agility and creativity in addressing unforeseen challenges. This hybrid role will involve leadership responsibilities and reporting to the Senior Vice President while overseeing a talented marketing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire a team, fostering professional growth for emerging talent.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the sponsorship landscape, with experience in managing high-profile sponsorship initiatives across major properties such as the NFL, NASCAR, NBA, MLS, PGA TOUR, NHL, USOC, and MLB, as well as significant entertainment ventures.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the complete marketing spectrum, including social media, content marketing, influencer strategies, and promotional activities.
  • Develop client-centric solutions and present them to senior-level stakeholders within client organizations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client executives, driving revenue growth through effective cross-selling of organizational capabilities.
  • Collaborate with governing bodies and rights holders to cultivate exceptional marketing partnerships.
  • Draft and refine critical documents, including point-of-view papers, to ensure they are client-ready.
  • Negotiate agreements with local, national, and global rights holders on behalf of clients, achieving mutually beneficial outcomes that exceed expectations.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives, including brainstorming, proposal writing, and presentation delivery.
  • Willingness to travel frequently as required.
Qualifications
  • Over 10 years of experience directly involved in high-profile sponsorship initiatives.
  • More than 8 years of experience in team leadership and contributing to internal initiatives (team building, events, retreats).
  • Bachelor's degree in a marketing-related discipline.
Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000-$174,900, with actual compensation determined by various factors including relevant experience and skills.
