Position Overview

Role Summary:

This is a comprehensive, residential role that reports to the Dean of Students. The Student Life Graduate Coordinator will assist the Dean in managing and overseeing Student Activity initiatives. This position involves active collaboration with the Director of Student Activities and the Director of Multicultural Engagement to foster environments that support both academic and personal development for students. The Coordinator will also engage with the Campus Activity Board and various student organizations to promote a vibrant campus life.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support the planning, execution, and oversight of student events that encourage engagement and community building.
  2. Participate in regular meetings with Student Life leadership to share updates and relay important information to the student body and staff.
  3. Assist in budget management, inventory control, and procurement of necessary supplies.
  4. Help with event promotion and marketing efforts, including social media outreach.
  5. Provide guidance to students facing academic, social, or personal challenges.
  6. Uphold confidentiality in all interactions.
  7. Collaborate effectively with all university departments.
  8. Complete mandatory university training sessions, including those related to Title IX and FERPA.
  9. Contribute to the success of Student Life by undertaking additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. A Bachelor's degree is required.
  2. Must be enrolled full-time in a Master's degree program during the academic year.
  3. Experience in a collegiate athletic environment is preferred.
  4. A genuine interest in supporting students and understanding their diverse needs.
  5. Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  6. Certification from a recognized strength and conditioning program is advantageous.
  7. Training in AED and/or CPR is preferred.
  8. Legal authorization to work in the United States is necessary.

Compensation and Benefits:

  1. This is a 12-month residential position, with an annual contract renewal.
  2. Monthly stipend provided throughout the duration of the role.
  3. Furnished living accommodations assigned at the discretion of the Director of Residence Life, along with internet access.
  4. Meal provisions available when the dining hall is operational.
  5. Eligible for tuition waivers for fall, spring, and summer semesters, with responsibility for books and living expenses.

Additional Considerations:

  • The Graduate Coordinator for Student Life may not hold full-time employment elsewhere.
  • Tuition remission is contingent upon enrollment in courses by regular, tuition-paying students.
  • To maintain this position, the Graduate Coordinator must uphold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00.
  • A background check will be conducted prior to the employment offer.
