The Position. As a Senior Vice President, you will report directly to the Executive Vice President (EVP) and play a key role in supporting the EVP and senior leadership in various aspects of campaign management, research, and strategic analysis.
- Engaging with state and city elected officials, regulators, and stakeholders to advocate for client interests.
- Creating innovative and comprehensive campaign strategies to achieve client objectives.
- Communicating directly with clients to update them on progress, discuss strategies, and prepare for meetings.
- Drafting and refining materials, including policy briefs, presentations, testimonies, speeches, and other external communications.
- Collaborating with team members to enhance Tusk's presence in New York by identifying new business opportunities.
- Contributing to new business proposals with creative ideas and strategies.
- Demonstrating strong research capabilities and tracking legislative developments.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines.
Qualifications.
- 7+ years of experience in political and policy roles, including senior positions within the New York State Legislature, NYC Council, or similar governmental entities. Experience in public affairs, in-house roles, or political advocacy campaigns is also valuable.
- Proven track record of contributing to successful policy, regulatory, legislative, or political outcomes through specific project involvement.
- Familiarity with New York City and state political landscapes.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
