Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sediment Remediation Specialist to join our sediment remediation practice in the Pacific Northwest region. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental consulting and a proven track record of success in the development and management of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business development, including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan;
  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management;
  • Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Review and manage written document production;
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
  • Conduct fieldwork, including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction;
  • Direct multi-disciplinary project teams;
  • Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or related field (required);
  • Advanced degree in the same (preferred);
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.G. or P.E.) (preferred);
  • At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience in the Pacific Northwest marketplace (required);
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams (required);
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients (required);
  • Proven leadership skills (required);
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed (required);
  • Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology (preferred);
  • Previous field experience, for example, sediment sampling, porewater sampling, observation of well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and/or other field techniques (preferred);
  • Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations (preferred);
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation (preferred);
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required;
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred);
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required;
  • Valid U.S. drivers license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
Compensation

The typical base salary range for this position is $95,865 - $140,870 (Seattle). We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including paid holidays, vacation, sick, and personal paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401(k), and other benefits to eligible employees.
