We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team at Brookville Center for Children's Services. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in evaluating and providing appropriate physical therapy services to assigned children, participating in planning meetings, and communicating effectively with families and other professional staff.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and provide physical therapy services to assigned children, including implementing activities and therapeutic goals to facilitate motor control and developmental skills.
- Participate in planning meetings to discuss children's needs and develop individualized plans.
- Communicate effectively with families and other professional staff to ensure seamless care and support.
- Assess student needs through formal and informal measures, and develop and implement appropriate goals, objectives, and strategies for intervention.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in conferences, including parent and team meetings, as assigned.
- Maintain professional standards in interactions with families and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform treatment activities effectively and efficiently, and maintain accurate records of progress and outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for children.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.
- Master's Degree or entry-level Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from a program approved by the New York State Department of Education.
- Registration as a Physical Therapist in New York State.
- Minimum one year of related work experience working with preschool and school-age special needs populations.
- Knowledge of anatomy, neuro-motor development, and developmental psychology.
