Facilities Supervisor Job Description

At SpaceX, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Facilities Supervisor, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Starlink facility. Your expertise will help us maintain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team responsible for facilities operations, including janitorial, landscaping, mechanics, HVAC, electrical systems, compressors, plumbing, trash, office supplies, build-outs, and general maintenance.
  • Manage third-party service providers to ensure services meet corporate standards and contract terms.
  • Develop, plan, and execute site improvement projects aligned with business objectives and strategy.
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and installation of building-related infrastructure, including electrical systems, compressors, HVAC equipment, industrial gas systems, fire suppression systems, cranes, rental equipment, furniture installs, and grounds.
  • Develop and administer an effective periodic maintenance program for facilities.
  • Prioritize tasks and projects to drive department efficiency and eliminate blockers to critical path.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in facilities management.
  • 1+ years of experience leading a team or project.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience managing budgets.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors.
  • Experience negotiating contracts and comparing service costs to achieve maximum value.
  • Experience with asset management software.
  • Knowledge of building management and automated facilities monitoring systems and processes.
Additional Requirements:
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical activities and emergency situations.
  • Occasional ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
