Job Summary

CDM Smith is seeking a highly skilled Program Manager to join our team of accomplished professionals. The successful candidate will serve as an Owner's representative or advisory program management role with a strong emphasis on civil infrastructure and public infrastructure programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to the firm and leadership to a staff of program representatives and project support staff.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate projects, including evaluating, assessing, and developing recommendations for the planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance function of client facilities.
  • Work in alignment with practice leaders, sales leaders, project managers, and project technical leads to manage and direct the CDM Smith team, including sub-consultants and contractors.
  • Develop program standards for client organizations and ensure adherence to strategic direction and framework of the client's program.
  • Adhere to discipline, quality, and health- and- safety standards and provide guidance and expertise to project teams.
  • Provide leadership and assist with identifying cost-effective ways to procure new services and support proposal development and proposal managers.
  • Effectively cooperate, communicate, and collaborate with all stakeholders and provide regular technical and financial reporting to the client, funding, and regulatory agencies, and to CDM Smith internally.
  • Manage staff in developing program standards and oversee design and construction, coordinating with lead practitioners, quality managers, and key technical specialists.
  • Identify project, program management, construction management, and/or design-build opportunities with existing clients that may lead to other opportunities for CDM Smith.
  • Manage and develop staff by providing regular feedback and coaching.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 12 years of related experience, or equivalent additional directly related experience.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
  • Expert knowledge of corporate governance practices, organization design principles, accounting principles, finance, supply chain management, and organization management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to understand highly complex technical, professional, and business materials.
