Job Overview

Our client, a distinguished law firm, is actively seeking a mid-level associate or special counsel attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation. This role is pivotal in representing insurance companies in various coverage disputes and providing expert advice on a range of coverage matters. Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent insurance providers in coverage disputes involving diverse claims such as general liability, labor law, construction defects, personal and advertising injury, and contribution claims.
  • Provide strategic advice to insurance companies on intricate coverage issues and conduct thorough analyses of insurance policies and relevant contracts.
  • Oversee all stages of the litigation process, including drafting motions, pleadings, discovery materials, and court documents.
  • Prepare and negotiate settlement agreements effectively.
  • Conduct depositions, attend legal conferences, and manage appeals.
  • Develop and present comprehensive litigation strategies in court.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a law firm focused on insurance coverage litigation.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in the State of New York.
  • Experience in New York and Federal Courts is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience includes litigating under general liability policies, particularly in areas such as Labor Law, construction defects, personal and advertising injury, and contribution claims.
  • Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to assess complex legal issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Experience in all aspects of the litigation process, including depositions, conferences, and appeals.
  • Trial and/or arbitration experience is a plus.
  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing.
  • Licenses in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Delaware are considered a significant advantage.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Offers a competitive annual salary range of $125,000 - $210,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
