Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Seasonal Park Assistants. As a key member of our park operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, performing various tasks related to park maintenance and operations, and ensuring the overall safety and well-being of park visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service to park patrons, assess and resolve complaints, and assist volunteer park hosts as needed.
  • Collect and account for fees in park day use and campground areas, enforce user fee compliance, and process computerized campsite reservations.
  • Inform and educate park users on county ordinances and regulations pertaining to the use of county parks, maintain park safety and health standards, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Perform tasks associated with ongoing seasonal park operations and maintenance requirements, including cleaning and maintaining park facilities, gutters, fire pits/grills, and restrooms.
  • Operate, repair, and maintain a variety of machines, hand and power tools, and equipment used to build, repair, and replace park improvements and infrastructure.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
  • Must pass a criminal history check, which may include national or state fingerprint records check.
  • Must pass a post-offer physical assessment; accommodation requests will be reviewed on an individual basis in compliance with State and Federal legislation.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record throughout the course of employment.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent standing, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting, and repetitive forward and overhead reaching. Occasional duties may require the ability to lift/carry 100 lbs. and push objects weighing up to 90 lbs. Duties involve exposure to inclement weather, noise, dust, chemicals, fumes, and continuous work around moving machinery.

Work Schedule

This position works in a County department that is open 7-days a week, 365-days a year. Shifts for this position include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full-time positions work up to 40 hours during a work week. A limited number of part-time positions are available. Part-time positions work up to 20 hours during a work week. Seasonal employees will collaborate with their supervisors to establish their work schedule.
